Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

Merzouga Adventures organized Morocco Private tour with experienced drivers and guides. Pick-up from airport. Transfer to Rabat and Chefchaouen - known as the “Blue City”. It was founded in 1471 by Moorish exiles from Spain. The Mediterranean diet of Chefchaouen was listed by UNESCO immaterial world heritage 2010. Overnight with (BB)

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast in your riad, you will start traveling to Fes via Ouazzan and the Roman site of Volubilis. After a couple of hours' drive, you will get to Volubilis, the well-preserved Roman empire dating to 225 BC, where you will see the most beautiful Mosaics in Morocco dating back to the 3rd century BC. Here you will have a guided tour of the site and learn a lot about the Roman Empire. After that, we travel to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco. In Meknes we see the fascinating gate Bab Mansour built by the sultan My Ismail; the granary and the Sahrij Souani, used for irrigation and plantation. Your visit includes also the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. We then continue via the highway to Fes. Overnight accommodation at a fancy riad in the medina. (BB)

Day 3: Fez -Ifrane – Azrou- Midelt

Today our private Morocco tour continues visiting the medina (the old city). We walk inside its alleys and we visit the Jewish Quarter and the Royal Palace. We will visit the famous tanneries in Fez, worth experiencing. Then we visit the Quaraouine mosque which is considered the Tour from Fez starts towards the Middle Atlas mountains. We will visit the town of Ifrane which is called as Switzerland of Morocco. We will drive towards the cedar forests in Azrou and here we may watch local monkeys. Then we drive to Midelt, 1st university in the world. We stay overnight in a local hotel

Day 4: Midelt -Ziz Valley - Efoud - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast in your riad, you will start traveling to which is famous for its mineral products. We will pass a few villages and cities to reach the fascinating Ziz valley. We will drive to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossils. After that, we drive towards Rissani and Merzouga Sahara desert where we ride camels to reach desert camp. We will experience Berber music in the desert and we stay overnight in a desert camp. We may watch the sunset in the dunes in the Merzouga desert

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou

After breakfast, we depart to Risani, old Sijilmassa, sourcing center of ancient caravans from the Sahara. Then we continue the journey of Fes Morocco Tours, through a semi-desert landscape, we reach the oasis of Tinghir- possibly one of the most beautiful places in Morocco. Then we pass the Todra river, impressive gorges to reach over 300m. Here we visit the village, we take the road of a thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, to reach one of the most important cities of southern Morocco, known for its intense and cinematic activity, having to his credit films like Gladiator, Troy, the Mummy, etc. Then visit the kasbah of Taourirt. Finally, we will enjoy Ait Ben Haddou, the queen of kasbahs (Unesco World Heritage). Later we will visit one of the most beautiful tracks of Morocco, dinner and we stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. Then to the roses valley and Skoura village. Continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Lunch is at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO matrimonial historical site, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi N’ ticket pass (2260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains. We will have time to stop and enjoy impressive views and visit the argan oil cooperative. We will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon and overnight in a traditional riad in the medina. (BB)

Day 7: Marrakech to Airport

Free day in Marrakech to see all places not seen before: After breakfast in the riad, you will enjoy the sites with historical and cultural interest, including the Koutoubia Minaret; the Saadian tombs; the beautiful Palace of Bahia, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. Finally, end the morning by walking through the medina alleys -getting a chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous Jamaa El Fna Square. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, and then in the afternoon visit the gardens at Majorelle and have a short tour at Gueliz -the new city of Marrakech. story-tellers, tooth-pullers and food sellers.
